How to Prevent People From Driving Under the Influence
People who choose to drive after they have consumed alcohol do not only put their own lives at risk, but also those around them. So many accidents today are caused by drunk drivers out there. According to CDC, "High-visibility saturation patrols consists of many police patrolling a specific area, usually at times and locations where alcohol-impaired driving crashes are more common.” This is a strategy that can be used to help prevent accidents that are caused by people who decide to drive under the influence.
These photos are of a car accident caused by a drunk driver that killed a family of four.
Families like this one have been affected negatively by these drunk drivers. According to Serenity, "The people who are at most risk of drunk driving is those who struggle from an alcohol use disorder". Many innocent people have been killed because someone else decided it was okay to drive intoxicated when they shouldn't have.
Some drivers that do not have a far drive home, may think it's okay to just drive after drinking. But what these people do not take into consideration is how much trouble they could get into if they got caught. Even if a person has only one drink and then drives after, they are still at risk for getting caught. Drivers that are caught driving under the influence can end up with a DUI, probation, license suspension, jail time, or even worse cases that could ruin your life.
